What is Remote Online Notarization ("RON")?

Florida law now permits documents to be signed and notarized over the internet. This process is called remote online notarization, or "RON." Prior to this, you had to be in the physical presence of a notary in order to get a document notarized.

Are you acting as an attorney?

No.  We are not performing any legal services and are not giving any legal advice.

Are all Florida notaries able to perform Remote Online Notarizations?

No.  Only notaries who receive special training and an appointment from the State of Florida can perform a remote online notarization in Florida.

Where will my documents be legally notarized?

All documents will show that they were notarized in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

Does my document have to have been created in the State of Florida?

No, but the document will reflect that it was notarized in Florida.

What are your hours of operation?

We are open Sunday - Friday from 8:00AM - 6:00PM EST. We will also try our best to accommodate requests to notarize documents outside of these hours.

Do I have to be physically located in Florida to get my document notarized?

No. You, as the signer, can be located anywhere in the world.  All witnesses, however, must be physically located in the US or a US territory. Please see the requirements page for more details on legal requirements.

Do I have to be a Florida resident to get a remote online notarization from you?

No. You do have to be a US citizen though. Please see our requirements page for more details.

Is this process safe and secure?

Yes. Florida has stringent remote online notary laws. We use DocVerify as our technology provider to ensure that we are in compliance with the law.  There is a 3 step process to verify your identity: 1. driver's license authentication 2. Knowledge Based Authentication ("KBA") and 3. review of the license and the signer by the notary. For more information, see Knowledge Based Authentication.

How much do you charge?

We charge $25.00 for each document notarized.

Do you charge a fee for witnesses?

Yes, there is a $20.00 charge for each witness used in an online session.

Why does my credit report need to be unlocked?

Florida's notary law requires that we verify your identity. This knowledge based authentication process uses your credit report to generate questions for you to answer to establish your identity. This is a self contained program run through our technology provider (using Lexis Nexis) and International Florida Notary does not see either the questions nor the answers, so your personal information is safe!

Why do I have to provide the last four digits of my social security number?

This is used in the process of verifying your identity.

Do you perform marriages?

No. Florida law does not permit marriage ceremonies to be performed online.

My documents require witnesses. Can I still use your service?

Yes. The witnesses will also have to undergo the identify verification process. In addition, although the document's signer does not have to be physically located within the US or a US territory, the witnesses do need to be physically located with the US or a US territory at the time of the notarization. Each witness will need their own email address and their own computer or large screen tablet with a camera and a microphone.
